Assam Agricultural University is the first institution of its kind in the whole of the North-Eastern Region of India. The main goal of this institution is to produce globally competitive human resources in the farm sector and to carry out research in both conventional and frontier areas for production optimization as well as to disseminate the generated technologies as a public good for benefitting the food growers/produces and traders involved in the sector while emphasizing on sustainability, equity and overall food security at the household level.

The university is the only educational centre in the world to offer a comprehensive four-year degree program in Agriculture with a specialization in Tea Husbandry and Technology, which covers the entire gamut of tea cultivation, production, and marketing. The Faculty of Agriculture offers B.Sc., M.Sc., and PhD degree programs. The Faculty of Home Science offers B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree programs in all departments and a Ph.D. degree program in Food and Nutrition only. Presently, the number of students enrolled in the first year B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree each year is 100 and enrolment capacity of each department in M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. degree programme is 10 and 4, respectively, in the Faculty of Veterinary Science.

Educational Qualification and Eligibility Criteria for Young Professional Vacancy:

Qualification: B.E/B. Tech in Computer Science

Desirable:

1. Experience in Windows and Linux based network management

2. Have cleared certification on networking and Solution Engineering from any reputed agency (for example, CCNA and or SMBSE etc.).'

3. Domain knowledge on L2/L3 Switch configuration, Firewall setup & management, Router setup & management etc.

4. Experience in handling Linux/Windows Servers, Storage solutions (SAN/NAS) etc.
