Mangaldai College, established in 1951, is an institution and one of the oldest undergraduate, coeducational college situated at Mangaldai in Darrang district, of Assam. This institute was established in the year 1951 with the pioneering effort of late Amiya Bhushan Dasgupta, the then S.D.O.(Civil), mangaldai and many other leading citizens of the district. The prime inspiration of these persons was to materialize the wish of the people for the spread of higher education in the district. The institution had an enthusiastic start under the leadership of the succeeding Principals, dedicated services of the faculty members and other staff contributed immensely to its growth. This college is affiliated with the Gauhati University.

Educational Qualification & Eligibility Criteria for Principal Job Vacancy:

To be suitable for the advertised post of Principal in Mangaldai College Assam, candidates must have the following eligibility criteria:

1. A Master's Degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed, from a recognised University and Ph.D. degree.

2. Relaxation of marks to SC/ST and differently abled categories is applicable as per the Govt. of Assam guidelines.

3. Associate Professor/Professor with a total experience of fifteen years of teaching/ research/administration in Universities/Colleges and other institutions of Higher Education.

4. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based performance appraisal in Appendix-III for direct recruitment of Principals in Colleges as per Govt. of Assam Guidelines.

5. A minimum of 10 research publications in peer reviewed or UGC listed journals.

6. A minimum of 110 research scores as per Appendix-II at Table-2.

7. Upper age limit of 55 years as on 01-01-2021 as per Govt. of Assam Notification No. AHE/17/2013/3, Dated 26-12-2013.

8. The term of Principal shall be of 5 years as per Govt. of Assam guidelines.
