About Dibrugarh University

Dibrugarh University, is one the easternmost University of India. It was set up in 1965 under the provisions of the Dibrugarh University Act, 1965 enacted by the Assam Legislative Assembly. It is a teaching-cum-affiliating University with limited residential facilities. The territorial jurisdiction of Dibrugarh University covers seven districts of Upper Assam, Viz., Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Sibsagar, Jorhat, Golaghat, Dhemaji and Lakhimpur. The University Campus extends over an area of more than 500 acres of which 60 acres are still covered under tea plantation. Dibrugarh University is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). The Degrees conferred by this University are recognised by all India and abroad on reciprocal basis. The diverse tribes with their distinct dialects, customs, traditions and culture form a polychromatic ethnic mosaic which makes this area a veritable paradise for the study of Anthropology and Sociology, beside Art and Culture.

Dibrugarh University Assam is inviting applications from eligible candidates for various project based positions for a DST–SERB funded project entitled "Sedimentation Model, Diagenetic Heterogeneity and Reservoir Properties of Tura Formation (Upper Paleocene–Lower Eocene) of Upper Assam Basin" at the Department of Petroleum Technology. Educational Qualification and Eligibility Criteria for Dibrugarh University Job Vacancy:

For Project Associate–I: Master degree in Applied Geology /Geology or M. Tech. in Petroleum Technology (with M. Sc. in Geology) from a recognised University

For JRF : Master degree in Applied Geology /Geology or M. Tech. in Petroleum Technology (with M. Sc. in Geology) from a recognised University and selected through any of the following processes-

(i) Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests– CSIR – UGC NET (including Lectureship) and GATE

(ii) The selection process through National Level Examinations conducted by Central Govt. departments and their agencies and institution

For Project Associate-II / SRF :

(i) As mentioned above for Project Associate – I / JRF

(ii) 2 years' experience in Research & Development in Industrial and Academic Institutes or Science & Technology organizations

Desirable Qualification: Geological field experience in Northeast India with Petroleum Geology as a subject of specialization in M. Sc./ M. Tech. Programme
