The East Indian School came to being on 14th August 2008 with the foundation stone laid at the present location and was formally inaugurated on 27th February 2009. The School presently occupies a spacious campus covering approximately three acres amidst a lush green environment away from the noise and pollution of the town that facilitated a peaceful learning atmosphere.

The EIS at present has become a school of repute in entire north of Assam among the CBSE affiliated schools. The journey that started with CBSE has got another impetus when it was upgraded to Senior Secondary level by CBSE, New Delhi with effect from 1st April,2017.
