About Poshan Abhiyaan Assam

Social Welfare Department, both at the Centre and in the State, have been created to attend to social and individual disorganization which needs immediate attention and prompt action. Social and individual disorganization lead to occurrence of problems like Child Labour, atrocities on women, trafficking of girl child and women etc.

The Directorate of Social Welfare was created by Govt. of Assam in the year 1960. The Directorate was made permanent with effect from 20-09-1965 and a full fledged Social Welfare Administrative Department was created on 19th September 1991.

The role and responsibilities of the Social Welfare Department are destined to witness a phenomenal expansion in the coming years due to the heightened social awareness of the problems faced by children, women and physically challenged persons. This Department has the mandate to ensure proper care of the uncared, protection of the most vulnerable sections of the society and creation of an environment which is conducive to the all round development of children, women and physically challenged persons both by taking the caring and protective hands of the Government to them and by giving intensified fillip to the non- government initiatives aimed at reaching out to them.

District Coordinator	Graduate with Diploma in Computer Science or IT.	At least 2 years experience in application maintenance & support. Good oral and written communication skills in local language. Computer literacy must. Willingness to travel a must. Mandatorily local candidates should be engaged.
District Project Assistant	Graduate Degree/Post Graduate Diploma in Management/Social Sciences/ Nutrition.	Minimum 2 years work experience of capacity building, with supervisory skills Good oral and written communication skills in local language and fair skills in English Good computer skills/ knowledge of internet/email Ability to work in a team and willingness to travel extensively. Interested candidates may apply as per the prescribed Application Format (Annexure-1) along with self-attested copies of testimonials relating to educational qualification, experience, etc.
Candidates applying for multiple positions will have to submit separate application forms against each post. Candidates will have to produce the original certificates as and when required.
The application should be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly mentioning the post applied for at the top and addressed to concern District Social Welfare Officer Office.
As a proof of residence, the applicant will have to submit photocopy of any one document, namely, Voter ID/PRC/Driving Licence/Aadhar Card/Resident certificate from the concerned Circle Officer.
