About Biswanath District Court:Initially the Court of Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (Mofussil) at Biswanath Chariali was inaugurated by Hon'ble Justice Mr. P.C Reddi, Chief Justice, Gauhati High Court on 25th Aug' 1986 and Court of Munsiff at Biswanath Chariali was inaugurated by Hon'ble Justice Mr. K.N Saikia, Chief Justice, Gauhati High Court on 11th Sept' 1987. Later on, Court of Additional District and Sessions Judge (F.T.C) at Biswanath Chariali was established on 26th Aug'2002. The Judicial Courts of Biswanath Chariali are functioning under Sonitpur District Judiciary.

Auspicious day on 21st May, 2022, the newly created Courts of District & Sessions Judge and Chief Judicial Magistrate at Biswanath Chariali was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Justice Mr. Ajit Borthakur, Gauhati High Court & Portfolio Judge for the Sonitpur district and Shri Pijush Hazarika, Hon'ble Minister for Water Resources, Information & Public Relations, Printings & Stationery and Parliamentary Affairs, Govt. of Assam.

Mr. Jogeshwar Borah is posted as first Hon'ble District & Sessions Judge, Biswanath at Biswanath Chariali and Mr. Abdus Sattar is posted as first Hon'ble Chief Judicial Magistrate, Biswanath at Biswanath Chariali.
