Cherra Teachers' Training Centre, Sohra is a co-educational teacher training institution run by Khasi Jaiñtia Presbyterian Assembly. It was established in the year 1867 with the objective of imparting teacher education to the in-service and pre-service student-teachers of the state in general and the district in particular.

The institution offers a 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed course)course prescribed by the Directorate Educational Research and Training (DERT) Government of Meghalaya and recognised by NCTE.

Educational an Other Qualification for CTTC Job
Educational Qualification:- PG Degree in Science/ Social Science/ Arts/ Humanities with minimum 55 % Marks and M.Ed/ M.A. Education/ M.EI, Ed with minimum 50 Marks.

Desirable: Degree/Diploma in Educational Administrations/ Educational Leadership.

Experience:- Five years of teaching experience in a Teacher Education Institution.
