About GIPS Tezpur - GIPS-TEZPUR is established by Shrimanta Shankar Academy Society in the year 2020. This is the first pharmacy institute in the state of Assam established under Public Private Partnership (PPP model) by Shrimanta Shankar Academy Society and Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Assam. The Shrimanta Shankar Academy Society is a registered service organization set up in the year 1992 to make significant contribution for social upliftment through education and also to inculcate among the youth a sense of discipline.

The motto of the Society is "Truth, Discipline & Excellence" and ever since its inception its aim has been to establish a morally sound educational system which not only produces competent professionals but also excellent human beings contributing towards the welfare of the Society. Towards this, the institute has introduced a broad based mentoring system to guide / counsel the students to improve their performance in all spheres of activities in the institute.
