A Master Degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale where grading system is followed from a recognized University.
A Ph. D. Degree.
Professor/ Associate professor with a total service experience of at least 15 years of teaching /research in Universities / Colleges and other institutions of higher education.
A minimum of 10 Research publication in peer Reviewed or UGC Sponsored Journals
A minimum of 110 Research Score as per Appendix-II at Table 2 of UGC Regulation, 2018.
A relaxation of 5% marks may be provided at Masters Levels for SC/ST / Differently abled candidates. The eligibility of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale) and relaxation of
5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible only based on the qualifying marks without any grace marks.
A relaxation of 5% marks may be provided to the Ph. D holders who have obtained their Master Degree prior to 19.09.1991

Tezpur College, established in 1965 with the untiring and selfless efforts of some of the enlightened citizens of Tezpur, has now emerged as one of the premier institutions of Higher Education in the North Bank of Assam. Late Dulal Chandra Bhattacharjee, the founder President and late Padma Prasad, the first acting Principal, along with some other zealous citizens shouldered the responsibilities of moulding the college to cater to the needs of Higher Education in the North Bank of Assam.
The College is affiliated to Gauhati university w.e.f. 01/12/1972. The College offers courses in Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), as also Higher Secondary(Arts and Commerce) courses. Besides the regular courses the College also offers Programmes in Business Administration(BBA), Travel and Tourism Management (TTM), B. Muse and M. Muse. The College also boasts of a study center Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University(KKHSOU) which caters to the needs of the working sections as well as those who wish to pursue higher education which they couldn’t complete due to various constraints and also help to fulfill the aspirations of those who wish to pursue multiple degrees.
