About Fire Service Tripura
Prior to 1957 there was no fire station in the State of Tripura. In 1957 the first Fire Station was started at Agartala in a garage of the then Superintendent of Police, Tripura with twenty-one personnel in the rank of ranks of Station Officers, Sub-officers, Leading firemen, Driver, Firemen and Mechanic-cum-Fitter, on transfer from Police. West Bengal Fire Service trained these personnel in Calcutta. Tripura Fire Service started functioning as an independent department from 1959 but the Superintendent of Police; Tripura continued to function as the ex-officio Director of Fire Service, Tripura. The government adopted the West Bengal Fire Service Act, in 1961 which is in force still for Tripura Fire Service.

Eligibility Criteria for Fire Service Tripura Recruitment

Desirable Qualification

Fireman

Madhyamik or equivalent examination passed from recognized board. Relaxable upto appeared in the Madhyamik or equivalent examination of recognized board for the ST & SC candidates.

#Height: 167 cms. (5 cms. Relaxable for ST)

#Chest: 81 cms. with 5 cms. expansion.

#Eye sight: 6/6 without glass.

The candidates must not have any physical deformities like Flat feet, Knock knee, Colour blindness/Squint eye/Wearing glass etc.

(i) H.S (+2 stage) or equivalent examination passed from recognized board.

(ii) Passed Certificate Course in Computer Application from recognized institute.

(iii) Having valid Driving License for Light Motor Vehicle.

(iv) Trained Civil Defence/Home Guard Volunteers.

(v) Knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok

Driver

(i) Madhyamik or equivalent passed from recognized board.

(ii) Must have valid Driving License for Heavy Motor Vehicles with minimum 2 (two) years experience of driving Heavy Vehicles.

#Height: 167 cms. (5 cms. Relaxable for ST)

#Chest: 81 cms. with 5 cms. expansion.

#Eye sight: 6/6 without glass.

The candidates must not have any physical deformities like Flat feet, Knock knee, Colour blindness/Squint eye/Wearing glass etc.

(i) Knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok

(ii) Active Home Guard/Civil Defence Volunteers and passed the basis training course.
