About Hailakandi Govt Model College

The establishment of the Model Degree College is a part of the proactive measures undertaken by the Government of India to expand higher educational facilities and ensure that all states in the country meet the national average of Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in higher education. To fulfil this, the Central Government has launched an important scheme, „Scheme for Financing New Model Colleges in Educationally Backward Districts (EBDs)‟, which is essentially a motivational mechanism for state governments to improve educational outcomes in underserved districts by providing appropriate financial assistance. Under this scheme Government of Assam established five Model Degree Colleges in the year 2017, and all these Model Degree Colleges were named after Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, a great thinker, philosopher, sociologist and politician of the country. The Government of Assam, in its second phase, established six new Govt. Model Degree Colleges in the year 2020, which were later renamed as Govt. Model College. Pandit Deendayal Upadhya, Govt. Model College, Katlicherra is one of these six newly established Government Model Colleges.

Qualification and Eligibility Criteria for Assistant Professor Vacancy

Qualification

• As per Assam Govt. memorandum No. AHE.239/2021/68, dated 24.01.2022. Besides NET/SLET/SET as mandatory eligibility conditions. Candidates having Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the UGC Regulation of 30th June 2010 (Minimum standard and procedure for award of Ph.D. degree Regulation 2009) shall be exempted from NET/SLET/SET.

• The candidate must have to acquire qualification latest by the date of submission of their applications. Other eligibility like M.Phil/Ph.D./Seminar paper/Publications can be acquired and may be submitted on the date of interview and not beyond.
