About India Post: India Post is a statutory body under the ownership of the Department of Post, part of the Ministry of Communications of the Government of India. Generally known as the Post Office, it is the most widely distributed postal system in the world. Warren Hastings had taken initiative under East India Company to start the Postal Service in the country in 1766. It was initially established under the name "Company Mail". It was later modified into a service under the Crown in 1854 by Lord Dalhousie. Dalhousie introduced uniform postage rates (universal service) and helped to pass the India Post Office Act 1854 which significantly improved upon 1837 Post Office act which had introduced regular post offices in India.It created the position Director General of Post for the whole country.

Eligibility Criteria of India Post Recruitment

Educational Qualification:

The candidate should have passed Secondary School Examination of 10th standard having passed in Mathematics and English (having been studied as compulsory or elective subjects) conducted by any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments/ Union Territories in India shall be a mandatory educational qualification for all approved categories of GDS.

Age Relaxation:

Category wise upper age relaxation will be as follows.

Local Language Proficiency:

The candidate should have studied the local language at least up to 10th standard.

Knowledge of Cycling:

Knowledge of Cycling is a pre requisite condition for all GDS posts. In case of a candidate having knowledge of riding a scooter or motor cycle, that may be considered as knowledge of cycling also.

Application Fee of India Post Recruitment

Candidates who are eligible and willing to apply online as per official notification, they have to pay application fee to complete their application process. The amount of application fee varies according to the category of the candidate. A brief description of the amount of the application fee is given below.

Mode of Payment:

The mode of payment of application fee will be online. Applicants will be able to pay their application fee through online payment gateway. Applicants can pay their fee using Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI, NetBanking or Wallet.

An official web portal will load in a new tab.

In that portal, candidates will find Registration form.

Open that Registration form, filled all required details.

After that you will have to upload your Photograph and Signature in prescribed file format.

Now, you will have to pay application fee.

After payment of application fee, your application will be submitted.

You can print your application acknowledgement for future use.
